ST. KILLIANS CEMETERY

St. Killian is an active cemetery with many tales of strange phenomena being reported there. There also used to be a church on the site, that has since been burned down by the local fire department during training exercises. Some of the tales consist of devil worship going on in the church basement.A group investigated it several times before a no trespassing sign was put up. There are reports of a bell ringing while you are there, but the bell seems to be coming from a house in the distance. There are also reports of seeing mist around a tombstone that disappears when approached. Also reported, a shadow that moves across the tombstones and vanishes. Strange smells are said to be coming from the marsh that is behind the cemetery.

The stories of unexplained activity are what prompted us to conduct an investigation of St. Killians. We had to see for ourselves if there was really something going on, or was it all just urban legends.

On July 1, 2005, we drove out to the cemtery during the day to survey the area. In mapping layout, we noted that the oldest graves were in the rear right hand perimeter of the cemtery. It was decided to come back at a later date for a night time investigation.

July 8, 2005, we arrived at St. Killians around 7:30 pm. We did a walk through of the cemetery, aquiring baseling readings as we went. There were no areas that we noted as having any anomalous readings. Video cameras were set up in positions where we could cover as much of the location as possible. Throughout the evening we attempted to record evp's. Only one was recorded, but it was unintelligable. We walked through taking readings two more times that night, but nothing changed. The night was mostly uneventful, although there was an uneasy feeling amongst the investigators. One investigator did however claimed to have witnessed a shadowy figure moving in the distance. We investigated the area of the sighting, but were unable to substantiate the claim. This is an ongoing investigation.
