"In the early morning hours of June 10th 1912, in a small white house in Villisca, Iowa, the lives of the eleven people became forever entwined. Eight were buried a few days later, the victims of one of the grisliest unsolved murders of our nation. The remaining three spent the rest of their lives trying to prove their innocence in the crime. Ninety three years later, the unsolved murders remain a part of Villisca's past that continues to haunt its future."

We returned to the Villisca house on April 22, 2006 to conduct a follow up investigation. We hoped to collect more evidence of paranormal activity at this location. As soon as we arrived at the house we unloaded our equipment and started setting up. The kitchen of the house was used for our base of operations, with the table monitor and DVR placed there. IR video cameras were then positioned in areas where we hoped to capture the most activity. One was placed in the Blue room, covering the bed where the Stillinger girls were murdered. Another camera was set in the parent’s bedroom, covering the top of the staircase. Two cameras were positioned in the children’s bedroom. One pointed towards the doorway that also caught the door to the attic and the top of the stairs. The other camera was placed in the corner of the room aimed at the doorway, but in a position to film the closet door. We placed this camera in hopes of catching movement of the door that has been reported by many people. The digital audio recorder and external microphone were also setup in the children’s bedroom in an attempt to record EVP’s or any anomalous noises in the top floor of the house. We also placed a passive IR motion detector in the children’s room, but also catching the top of the stairs. The motion detector was turned on whenever there wasn’t investigators present on the second floor. The Trifield Natural EM meter was placed on a table at the top of the stairs in the parents bedroom in an attempt pickup on any fluctuations in the magnetic field. After the equipment was set three investigators walked through the house and took baseline readings with an EMF meter and a digital noncontact thermometer. After the readings were acquired one of the investigators stayed alone in the home and attempted to record EVP’s with a digital voice recorder. We then left the equipment recording and sat outside of the home for a half an hour. The group was then divided into to teams of two, with one team on the second floor and one investigating the first floor. One person was watching the monitor for anomalous activity during this period. After observing the areas for a half an hour up to an hour the teams would switch. We also left the home entirely on two other occasions an let the equipment record. We attempted to record EVP’s in different areas of the house throughout the night. At one point during the investigation Jim was standing next to the bed in the parent’s room and thought he heard whispering coming from the bed area. Later in the night Trevor went and sat on the bed to see if he could experience the whispering. During this observation period he also thought he heard the whispering, but this time it sounded as if it was coming from the area between the parent’s room and the children’s bedroom. Throughout the entire night the Natural EM Meter was going off every few minutes, sometimes several times in a minute.

After reviewing all of the pictures taken in the home that night we could find nothing paranormal. There was also nothing anomalous found on any of the video recorded at the location. When reviewing the audio recordings nothing was found on any of the voice recorders. However, several EVP’s were found recorded throughout the night on the digital audio recorder that was setup in the children’s bedroom. We are not sure if the fluctuations picked up by the Natural EM were caused by something paranormal or if it was a result of the geomagnetic field being unsettled. Although we have only experienced this in two other locations, and we believe there is legitimate paranormal activity in both. The phantom whispers that were heard by both Jim and Trevor were unexplainable. When the audio recordings from these time frames was reviewed, nothing was found. In both our trips to the Villisca house we were able to record anomalous activity, and investigators had strange experiences. We believe that the claims of a haunting of the Moore house are legitimate.
